This is the Ivković family’s story

We met the Ivković family from Smederevska Palanka on September 4, 2025.
The family is made up of single mother Slavica (born 1975) and her two children, Mijat (born 2011) and Mija (born 2017).
Sadly, five years ago the family lost their greatest support. Miroslav, husband and father, died tragically.
That is when their hardest battle began – the battle to survive.
Five months ago, Slavica suffered two strokes in a row. She is completely immobile. On top of everything that has happened to her, she is currently fighting breast cancer that has metastasized.
The family currently has no income at all. Slavica worked as a food server at a preschool. Because of the ongoing disability pension procedure, the payment of her benefits is delayed.
They live in a rented apartment.
