This is the Vučetić family’s story.
We met the five-member Vučetić family on July 12, 2020. They lived in the village of Vrbić, but they have now fled from an abuser to Zemun.
The family sells products they make themselves, but they rarely manage to sell enough to earn a normal living.
The oldest son is very troubled and has turned to alcohol. While drunk, he beat his mother. The helpless and heartbroken mother reported her son to the authorities, but they did not keep him in custody because he is still a minor.
This situation is so humiliating for a mother – and for all of us as a society.
Fleeing the violence, mother Nevenka moved to Zemun with two of her children, and that is where the real fight for survival began.
Mother Nevenka is currently unemployed.
The family needs help with food and basic hygiene products.
